VASAP Board
Purpose:
The Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program Policy Board (VASAP) provides probation, education and rehabilitation of those persons charged with a violation of Section 18.2-266 of the Code of Virginia.
The mission of the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program is to improve highway safety by decreasing the incidence of driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, leading to the reduction of alcohol and drug-related fatalities and crashes.

Membership: Per Resolution #80-102:
The policy Board shall consist of the present members of the Central Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program Policy Advisory Board (a physician, a bar association member, a General District Court Judge, a law enforcement official, a Commonwealth Attorney, a driver education specialist and representative appointed at-large by the governing body of each participating jurisdiction) and shall continue to be composed of one representative from each participating jurisdiction appointed at-large by the governing body and other private citizens as the Policy Board may deem appropriate;

Section 2. Terms of Membership:
In order to provide continuity of membership, each member of the Board shall serve for a two (2) year term. The terms of the initial Board members shall coincide with their previous terms while serving on the Advisory Board.
