The Mayor also reviewed several actions taken by the City’s administration including halting water utility disconnections until May 15 in order to promote safe hygiene practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, deferring certain tax payments for businesses to help alleviate some of their immediate financial stress and moving to minimal staffing for City operations.
The Mayor encouraged residents to continue to follow the guidelines from the Virginia Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of washing your hands, social distancing, covering your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze and staying home if you are sick.
