    Lynchburg Planning Commission to Conduct Public Hearings (July 8)

    LYNCHBURG PLANNING COMMISSION TO CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARINGS
     
    On Wednesday, July 8, at 4:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 900 Church Street, the Lynchburg Planning Commission will conduct public hearings regarding the following items:
     
    1. Petition of Across the Bridge, LLC (Tony West) to rezone approximately four hundred thirteen thousandths (.413) acres at 421 Rivermont Avenue, 610 Rhodes Street, and 412 Blackford Street from R-4, High Density Residential District to B-4, Urban Commercial District to allow the use of an existing building as fifteen (15) dwelling units and the construction of a parking area.
     
    2. Petition of Milestone Tower Limited Partnership IV, d/b/a Milestone Communications for a conditional use permit at 1501 Fenwick Drive to allow the construction of a one hundred fifty-four (154) foot monopole to be used for telecommunications in an R-1, Low Density Residential District.
     
    A limited number of citizens will be allowed in the Council Chamber due to COVID-19 precautions. Anyone in the Chamber will be asked to practice social distancing and to sit in designated spaces. Those experiencing any flu like symptoms or who have been exposed to anyone with flu like symptoms of COVID-19 are asked not to attend the hearings. Alternate methods to participating in-person at the public hearings include: 
     
    • Call (434) 455-3959. These calls will be recorded and played during the public hearings following any in-person comments. The three-minute speaking limit applies. Phone comments will be cut off at the three-minute mark as they would be for a person speaking in Council Chamber.
     
    • Citizens may also send written comments on these topics to the Planning Technician no later than Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Written comments can be emailed or mailed to Eve Mergenthaler, Planning Technician, Community Development Dept., 900 Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
     
    All comments will become a part of the official public record.
