According to the Department of Water Resources, Phase III of the Fifth Street Corridor Improvement Project will be substantially complete and reopened to traffic on Thursday, July 25. The City of Lynchburg appreciates everyone’s patience during this construction process.
Additional streetscape work, including vegetation and tree plantings, will be completed during the fall planting season. Some additional cleanup and repair work on Fourth and Taylor Streets will also be conducted once Fifth Street reopens.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience throughout this construction project,” said Tim Mitchell, Director of the Department of Water Resources. “We especially appreciate the businesses that were affected, and we thank them for putting up with the dust, noise, and disruptions.”
