On Tuesday, September 11, at 2:30 p.m., the City of Lynchburg Disaster Recovery Group (CLDRG) will conduct a public meeting to acknowledge the hard work of the groups and individuals involved in the establishment of the CLDRG and provide an update on the efforts made thus far in response to the April tornado event and August flooding in the Lynchburg area.
The meeting will take place in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 900 Church Street. Various representatives from CLDRG will speak about the group’s long term recovery actions and the progress made toward greater community resiliency.
The CLDRG is a cooperative body made up of representatives from faith-based, non-profit, government, business and other organizations working within the City of Lynchburg to assist individuals and families as they recover from community disasters. The group’s goal is to unite recovery resources with community needs in order to ensure that even the most vulnerable in the community recover from disasters.
