    Love Where You Live Community Volunteer Opportunities

    LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE | APRIL 18, 2020 - POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19

    Each spring, the City of Lynchburg sponsors a city-wide cleanup. Hundreds of volunteers pick up litter, plant gardens, sweep sidewalks, cut logs, spruce up landscaping, etc.
     
    On April 18, there will be THREE opportunities for you to show Lynchburg some LOVE! We’re looking for friends, families, church groups, athletic teams, scouts, businesses...well, pretty much anyone to join us to help make a difference in this amazing city we’re fortunate to call home!

    CITY WIDE CLEANUP   |  10 AM - 2 PM

    Meet up at Public Works Complex, 1700 Memorial Ave.
    You will be provided a clean up location, safety vests, orange bags and litter grabbers.

    CLEAN YOUR BLOCK PARTY | 10 AM - 2 PM

    Join friends, family and neighbors to clean up litter, plant gardens and revitalize your neighborhood. Afterwards, celebrate with a block party at your community center, lunch will be provided! Safety vests, gloves, litter getters, and bags provided by Public Works.
     
    Meet at one of the following community centers: 
    • College Hill, 811 Jackson Street
    • Daniel’s Hill, 317 Norwood Street
    • Diamond Hill, 1005 17th Street
    • Jefferson Park, 405 York Street
    • Fairview, 3621 Campbell Avenue
    • Yoder, 109 Jackson Street

    COMMUNITY CARE COLLABORATIVE | 8 AM - 3 PM*

    Lynchburg’s Community Care Collaborative is a large group of nonprofit Lynchburg organizations coming together who are deeply committed to serving the under-served and impoverished of our surrounding community. Participating organizations range from a local food pantry to the Virginia Department of Health, all focused on providing education and employment opportunities, food options, healthcare, housing, medical exams, and more.
