Dearington Plan Process & Neighborhood Meetings

The key to making this neighborhood plan a successful endeavor will be significant neighborhood engagement throughout the process so that the plan is both for the neighborhood and by the neighborhood.  Staff has a prepared a draft engagement strategy that will be updated as the process goes along, but shows the overall intention and direction for the plan process. The steering committee, comprised of current and former residents and representatives from community organizations, will be consulted with regularly and will ensure that this is an open and meaningful community engagement process.

    Upcoming Neighborhood Meetings:

Due to the need for social distancing to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, the next set of neighborhood meetings have been postponed for the time being. At the first meeting, we will work with the neighborhood to establish a vision for the future of the neighborhood, goals to achieve that vision, and policies/actions to take to achieve those goals.  Subsequent meetings will focus on redesigning Jefferson Park and neighborhood design elements - streets, housing, transportation systems, etc. Stay tuned!
