The Seabury-Hughes Utility Project is making significant water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure improvements in Lynchburg's Fairview Heights neighborhood. Lynchburg Water Resources has contracted with Prillaman & Pace to replace 6,000 feet of waterlines, 870 feet of sanitary sewer lines and install 12 new stormwater inlets. The project is located off Campbell Avenue and is improving services for the following streets: Campbell Avenue, Easley Avenue, Herbert Street, Hughes Avenue, Idaho Street, Iowa Street, Pocahontas Street, Powhatan Street, Seabury Avenue, Triangle Place, and Utah Street. Construction on this project started in October 2023 and is expected to last until April 2025.
What to know about construction
Prillaman & Pace crews are working Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During construction, streets may be closed to through traffic in the project area. Residents and emergency vehicles will have access at all times. There will be minimal disruptions to water service, but residents will receive notice of any disruption 24 hours prior to any planned outages.
