Litter Control & Adopt-A-Street

Adopt-A-Street / Spot Program

Litter ControlLynchburg's Adopt-A-Street program began in 1991. Today, more than 80 locations across the city are adopted by volunteers who do at least four clean-ups per year at their designated locations. A half-mile minimum is required to adopt a street or area. Designated location(s) are also welcomed upon approval. The City provides orange trash bags, litter grabbers, and safety vests. We will collect your filled bags after each cleanup, just report them to 856-CITY(2489)! In addition, an Adopt-A-Street road sign with the individual's or organization's name will be placed at the adopted street/location. For more information please call 434-455-6080. Love where you live! Keep your community clean!
