Sec. 35-56. Issuance of permit and indemnification.
If the city engineer approves the work as stated in the application for a permit required by the provisions of this article, he shall issue the permit. The acceptance of a permit issued under the provisions of this article shall require the recipient thereof and his successors in interest to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend the city, its employees and officials, from all claims, expenses and costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, for damages or injuries to any person or property of any nature whatsoever, arising out of any excavation work for which the permit is granted.
