    The pARTners program is an arts education collaboration between the Academy of Fine Arts and Lynchburg Parks and Recreation. The classes in this section are offered in cooperation, and are located at the Academy's downtown location. Registration for all classes can be done online - click on the individual registration links to register today. 

    BUILDING KNITTING SKILLS: DISH CLOTH

    Ages 13 & Up
    $10.00 LR / $15.00

    Learn basic knitting skills in this two hour workshop while creating a dish cloth from start to finish.  Students should bring a skein of “Sugar and Cream” cotton yarn and size 8 knitting needles. Register by 2/5.

    WATERCOLOR: LANDSCAPES

    This class is for students with previous watercolor experience. There will be demonstrations for learning new techniques in painting landscapes. Bring photos to class for inspiration!  Supply list available online. Register by 1/9.

    WATERCOLOR: PEOPLE

    INTERMEDIATE OIL PAINTING

    Ages 16 & Up

    Students will receive instruction on the methods and materials of oil painting, tailored to the intermediate student’s needs. Students will work with still life, landscapes and the figure. Exercises and critiques will cover such basics as color, value, shape, and composition with an emphasis on “the process of seeing.” Supply list available online. Register by 1/9.

    WATERCOLOR: FLOWERS

    WATERCOLOR: PHOTO INSPIRATION
