The City of Lynchburg's Department of Water Resources has established an annual maintenance inspection program of the raw water gravity line from the Pedlar Reservoir to Lynchburg. The inspection program will begin Monday, April 3 and will continue until Friday, April 21, 2017. This annual inspection program checks for defects and safety hazards, and if any are found, repairs are scheduled.
The raw water gravity line is essential for the transmission of raw water from the source, Pedlar Reservoir, to the Abert and College Hill Filtration Plants for treatment and distribution to citizens of Lynchburg and portions of the surrounding counties. Therefore, it is critical that this line is in good repair and operational at all times.
