Now Accepting Applications for Shop 9 at Lynchburg Community Market
Proposals are now being accepted for lease of retail shop space #9 at Lynchburg’s historic Community Market. The Market Handbook and application form can be accessed on-line at www.lynchburgcommunitymarket.com. Interested vendors may also pick up applications at the Community Market office at 1219 Main Street, or request a mailed copy by telephoning the office at (434) 455-4485.The Lynchburg Community Market is owned and operated by the City of Lynchburg, and is open five-days a week. The market features locally grown produce, home-made food products, boutiques, crafts, art and locally owned restaurants.
Potential applicants are encouraged to review the Community Market Handbook prior to applying for a lease space. Shop #9 contains approximately 421 square feet of prime vendor space. Shop areas are leased on an annual basis. The rental area is currently being offered at a premium rate of $11 a square foot, which includes standard commercial food prep and storage appliances; or at a base price of $9 a square foot with no commercial appliances. Applicants interested in leasing the premium space at $11 a square foot using city owned commercial equipment may do so with the understanding that the vendor will be responsible for repair and/or replacement of this equipment at their cost. A pre-bid tour of the space will take place on Wednesday, November 20 at 3 PM.
