Lynchburg Public Library to Feature Lincoln Center Yarn/Wire Screening (June 27)

On Tuesday, June 27 at 3:00 p.m., the Lynchburg Public Library, 2315 Memorial Avenue, will feature a screening of Yarn/Wire, a piano and percussion quartet based in New York City, as part of Lincoln Center Local: Free Screenings, a program created by Lincoln Center Education that brings the best of Lincoln Center - world-renowned performances coupled with unparalleled educational resources - to communities worldwide.

Come experience thundering rhythms, unconventional sounds and expert execution as Yarn/Wire brings their unique performance style to intimate surroundings at Lincoln Center. Since its first appearance in 2005, this chamber ensemble has been praised for its energy, precision, and “restless curiosity.” (Time Out New York) Dedicated to expanding the boundaries of music and performing the works of 21st century composers, the quartet is among a group of young ensembles focused on certain niches in contemporary music.

Lincoln Center Local: Free Screenings series provides high-definition screenings from the growing digital catalog of the world’s leading performing arts center. These music, dance, theater and opera performances come from recent live events at Lincoln Center, including the New York Philharmonic, Lincoln Center Theater, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and School of American Ballet.

The screening will take place in the Community Meeting Room and is free and open to the public.
