First Friday: Copernicus, a play
A play by Claire Wittman
First Friday, June 6, 5:45 to 6:45 pm
Enjoy a performance of the first act of a new play by Lynchburg native Claire Wittman, Copernicus:
The years following Europe’s industrial revolution are an age of great social and scientific upheaval. Encouraged by the quickly changing world and the advent of Darwinism, an aspiring student of biology finds herself poised on the brink of great change and discovery, in her work and in her life, as she struggles to balance the challenges posed by her brilliant, if belligerent, mentor and her ardent young suitor.
The performance will be followed by a talkback with the playwright and production team.
