"Central Business District Utility and Streetscape Improvement Project" (Downtown Waterline Project)
This project consists of the replacement of utilities and reconstruction of the streets and sidewalks for approximately 50 street segments, one block in length, in the downtown area of Lynchburg between Commerce and Court Streets and from 5th to 13th Streets.
The Virginia Departments of Health and Emergency Management encourage everyone to protect themselves against serious health problems that can result from prolonged exposure to the cold.
With bitter cold in the forecast this week, it is extremely important to take precautions when spending time outdoors. Hypothermia and frostbite are a real possibility with temperatures approaching the single digits and colder.
Join Kaye Moomaw for the Rose Pruning Workshop. Spend four hours among friends and discuss when, why, and how to prune different varieties of roses. The class will walk along “the old wall” seeing how pruning impacts the structure of a rose. It’s not a one size fits all procedure and the workshop will address that.
Wear heavy gloves and a coat—you will be doing some pruning work.
Wear boots along with gardening clothes.
Bring loppers and clippers if you have them.
If you have a rose at home that you don’t know what to do with, bring a picture printed on a full 8 ½x 11 sheet of paper and Kaye will try to help you figure it out!
Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch.
Please call for more information or to make a reservation.
$15.00 - Reservations required. Additional $9.25 for boxed lunch (optional)
