Peaks View Park has two picnic shelters available for rental. This is the place to go if you like to have lots of active recreational opportunities around you.  Walking, biking and hiking trails, ball fields, playgrounds and volleyball, tennis and basketball courts are all found at Peaks View Park.  Peaks View Park is a wonderful place for a team end-of-season picnic or for an active family to combine a ball game with a picnic, so go by the park and check out the shelters to see which one suits your needs. 

The large shelter can seat up to 80 people, and offers a grill, picnic tables and trash cans.  The small shelter can seat up to 40 people, and has a grill, picnic tables and trash cans.  Neither shelter offers electricity, water or handicapped accessibility. The rental period for both shelters is from 9:00 am to park closing on the day of the rental. 

Fees for the picnic shelter rentals are as follows:

Large Shelter   City Resident   Monday-Friday - $30.00/day  Saturday, Sunday & Holiday - $40.00/day Non Resident  Monday-Friday - $45.00/day  Saturday, Sunday & Holiday - $60.00/day
Small Shelter  City Resident   Monday-Friday - $20.00/day  Saturday, Sunday & Holiday - $30.00/day Non Resident  Monday-Friday - $30.00/day  Saturday, Sunday & Holiday - $45.00/day

 How to Rent this Shelter

It's easy to rent a shelter!  The first step is to email or call Customer Service at (434) 455-5858, to check on availability of the shelter on the date of your event and to make sure that a Peaks View Park shelter is the right place for you.

Next, read our picnic shelter rental policy page and answer the questions on our permits page to choose the appropriate permit application.  Finally, download either the Simple Use Permit Application or the Expanded Use Permit Application, complete the form and return it, with all applicable fees, to our offices at 301 Grove Street.

Please remember that the shelter is not reserved until all fees are paid and your final permit is issued.
