These people with high risks for complications from flu as designated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are encouraged to get the vacination. These include:

  • Pregnant women
  • People living with or caring for infants younger than 6 months
  • Health care workers
  • People 25 through 64 years old with chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, heart disease or diabetes, and
  • Anyone age 6 months to 24 years old
