Riverside Park Master Planning

Riverside Park Master Planning

Master planning for Riverside Park began in fall of 2007. John Milner Associates, Inc. was hired as the landscape architecture firm managing the master planning process for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Community involvement included a series of four public workshops, steering committee meetings, and ongoing support from partner organizations, including the Kiwanis Club of Lynchburg, the Lynchburg Garden Club, the Lynchburg Historical Society and the Junior League of Lynchburg. A history of Riverside Park prepared by Heidi James, a volunteer with the Lynchburg Garden Club is found on the link to the left.

Please look below to view two power point presentations prepared by John Milner and Associates, Inc., as part of the second and third meetings, the three conceptual designs presented at the public meeting on March 20, and the draft master plan provided at the final public meeting on June 26.

The draft final master plan was presented to City Council on August 12, and approved by Council.
